About Us

Headteacher Welcome

Thomson House School is a very special place, full of vibrant children, passionate staff and supportive parents. Our school is named after Peter Thomson, a man passionate about education who taught in many of the local independent schools (St Paul's, Emanuel and Harrodian) and who had a reputation for inspiring young people to live life to the full.

At Thomson House, we strive to prepare our children for life in the 21st Century – ensuring that they are confident, resilient, articulate, intellectually curious, socially responsible and care for the environment in which they live. There is no room for mediocrity at Thomson House School – we have the highest of expectations and aim to excel in everything that we do.

We offer a creative and challenging curriculum which incorporates varied and exciting learning opportunities for the children. Our school values of curiosity, kindness and courage weave through all areas of school life – our very high expectations are present in learning, behaviour, appearance and academic rigour.

We encourage our children to be well-mannered and respectful, with an empathy for those less fortunate than ourselves. We build self-esteem through performance opportunities, competitive sport and the Richmond Award Scheme. We aim for every child to fulfil their potential. Above all, we intend for the children to be motivated and enthusiastic in their learning journey – and to have fun and laughter whilst doing so.

We hope that our website will give you a flavour of Thomson House. However, if you really want to find out about the school, please do come and participate in one of our open days - the children are willing tour guides and will give you a greater impression of life at Thomson House School than the website ever will!

Best wishes
